Sadly, Martin Dean passed away a few days ago. Martin was the long time director of the Archaeological Diving Unit at St. Andrews, which pioneered commercial/CRM maritime archaeology in the UK. From 1986 through 2003, the Archaeological Diving Unit carried out survey and documentation in UK territorial waters, with Dean and the ADU team identifying countless sites for protection and monitoring.
